Epson America (www.epson.com) recently entered the dye-sub-transfer market with the 44-in. (1118-mm) SureColor F6070 and the 64-in. (1626-mm) SureColor F7070. SureColor F-Series printers can be used for soft signage, promotional items, apparel, and more. Both models can print at speeds up to 618 sq ft/hr (57.4 sq m/hr), image at resolutions up to 720 x 1440 dpi, and come standard with a 1.5-l bulk-ink system. The SureColor F models use Epson UltraChrome DS inks (CMYK). According to Epson, these dye-sublimation inks produce vibrant colors, intense blacks, sharp contours, and smooth gradations. Epson developed the Micropiezo TFP printhead (720 nozzles/color) for use with the DS inks. Both F-Series models include Wasatch SoftRIP. An auto take-up reel is standard on the SureColor F7070.
