ST Media Group International Inc. announces the appointment of Robin Donovan to editor-in-chief of Signs of the Times, the leading information source for sign professionals for more than 110 years. Robin will rejoin the company’s flagship brand, taking the helm from Wade Swormstedt, who has led Signs of the Times since 1991 and is leaving to become the executive director of the new Foundation for the Advancement of the Sign Industry (FASI).

Robin began her career with ST Media Group on Signs of the Times before working on sister titles VMSD (Visual Merchandising + Store Design) and Big Picture, where she was editor-in-chief since 2014. She joins the experienced team of senior technology editor/analyst Darek Johnson, senior associate editor Steve Aust, senior art director Jeff Russ, and a roster of deeply experienced columnists, editorial advisors, and contributors.

“Robin is a very talented and dynamic media professional with a great understanding of developing and delivering compelling business information across all media channels,” says Steve Duccilli, senior VP, content for ST Media Group. “She’ll also bring a well-rounded perspective of visual communications that she has gained in working in affiliated industries back to Signs of the Times.”

“I’m excited to rejoin ST Media’s flagship publication and to share the leadership and expertise that are the hallmarks of the Signs of the Times brand with an ever-growing audience of industry leaders and experts,” Donovan says.

Wade is leaving ST Media Group after 33 years with the company to serve as executive director of the newly created Foundation for the Advancement of the Sign Industry (FASI), which is seeking 501(c)(3) (non-profit) status. He will be working with numerous associations, universities, the American Sign Museum (ASM) and other sign-industry groups. Wade will remain in Cincinnati, with an office inside the ASM. Wade will also begin working more closely with a newly formed collegiate group with an interest in signage research.
