Featuring cocoa butter made specially for screen printing.
Systematic Automation has announced a configuration of its Model F1 screen printer for printing onto chocolate. The company offers a food coloring and cocoa butter combination formulated to maintain consistency during printing rather than drying in the screen; the butter can be printed onto a transfer sheet or directly onto the chocolates.
Areas of the machine that come into contact with cocoa butter are stainless steel and anodized; the system also uses food-grade squeegee material. Adjustable IR heating elements are incorporated into the clamshell of the machine and allow users to find the precise melting temperature of the butter in order to keep it at an optimal printing viscosity.
Options such as multicolor printing and a chilled vacuum table to keep the chocolate substrate solid during printing are available.
