'OE-A Roadmap for Organic and Printed Electronics' looks at trends, applications, and challenges.
The Organic and Printed Electronics Association (OE-A) has released a white paper titled “OE-A Roadmap for Organic and Printed Electronics.” The seventh edition of the roadmap presents key trends, application examples, and challenges in the organic and printed electronics sectors. Discussed fields of application include OLED lighting, organic photovoltaics, flexible and OLED displays, electronics and components, and integrated smart systems.
“The white paper shows, beside the short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts, that printed electronics has already arrived in our daily lives,” says Stephan Kirchmeyer, relations and marketing manager at COPT Center and co-author of the report, in a release.
Key findings include:
• Printed electronics are seeing a shift from “technological push” to “market push” due to advantages over conventional electronics in integration, costs, and design.
• Printed electronics have seen a global push across a number of sectors in recent years, including consumer electronics, healthcare, automotive, smart packaging, and buildings.
