NEED A INKJET FILM (ROLL)SOURCE

Posted on Tue, 10 Feb 2004 at 12:50

THIS IS OUR NEEDS. ANY SUGGETIONS ON OTHER MFGR'S? WE NOW USE ACCU-ART

24x100' Rolls (this can vary but so does cost)
Waterproof
Clear Media-Ink will leave a dense black image
Drying Time is minimal
Compatible with Epson 7600 Dye Printer (this is important because if it is not compatible for dye based inks it will not penetrate in substrate but lay on top of)
Cheaper than 238.00
Use 6 Rolls per month
Availability
Is it made for screen printing?-most other media does not work well like the vellum because it is not made for screenprinting

I don't know where you live so for my part i'm in Quebec city and my reseller too but, if you go to www.google.com and you enter: PQM-CPF-66-42 (or PQM-CPF-66-59) in the search engine it will give you sites from many resellers of this product and i'd bet you will find one close to your business. One thing i know it's made by ROLAND and many graphics reseller could get this product.

Important thing, you will need a good Dye Artwork black ink with this film and for my part i didn't like ROLAND Artwork ink. I suggest you to bet on EPSONs inks.

Sincerely,
Sylvain

I use Accu art as well in my 9600, but not the high end waterproof stuff. It seems to stand up well.

I recently tried a product called Magic DMCF4EN Clear Polyester Film made by Intellicoat. It's clear with white strips on the side. It dried quickly and held the ink well. I don't know if it meets all your criteria, but it is less expensive than the high end accu art, but still more expensive than the stuff I use.

The source I found is Charrette. The website is www.charrette.com. Just search for the name above and you should find it.

Good luck,

In case you've not had any luck, I use film from
Queen City Reprographics. In new Jersey. I buy 24'' by 66' or so for roughly 90 bucks. I use it for making film positives. Does pretty well on opacity.
