Custom shirts

Posted on Wed, 22 Aug 2007 at 10:07

Hello~
I was wondering if anyone knew how/where I could go about designing custom t-shirts for my daughter's volleyball team. I do not need to purchase a large quantity of them, since there are only approximately 10 that are on the team.
Thank you for your help

  • Look in your local yellow pages for a sign or print shop that is convenient for you.
  • Visit them with a list of what you need (i.e, # of shirts, sizes, colors).
  • If you have artwork, then having a high resolution design on CD would be a good idea.
  • Original artwork is best to avoid losing time due to file format issues. If you can ALSO save artwork in PDF and/or EPS format, then that would be good idea as well.
  • Sign shop people are quite knowledgeable about design layout, materials and applications, so once you have expressed what you need, let the shop work towards fulfilling your order.
  • Keep in mind that as you build a relationship with a given shop, they will typically be able to anticipate your needs and make suggestions on other projects.

Cheers,

Rod

Hello Brimans,

I'm the Production Manager here at NW Awards in Chehalis, WA and we do lots of sport printing for the local schools. You say you want to "design" the art for the shirts? You can use Adobe's Photoshop® CS3 or their Illustrator® CS3 as well. Do you want images as well as text?

Most print shops have a graphic artist that can whip up a design for you for about $30. 10 shirts is a very small order. 1 color text can be done with "heat transfer" and is probably THE least expensive for that small of an order.
