Printcolor Mixing Recipes

Posted on Sun, 30 Apr 2006 at 21:17

If you are using Printcolor inks, a fantastic, FREE, recipe database and ink mix calculator is now on-line at

Developed after many years experience using these inks daily, it is unique in that for recipes calling for a clear component and hardener it will utilize the hardener as part of the clear requirement - a technique that requires simple but frustrating maths and so is often ignored.

There is also an option to omit the clear altogether if you think that your substrate color will interfere with the colour accuracy due to reduced ink layer opacity because of the clear component in the recipe.

It saves operator time and error by doing all the mix calculations for you and then printing a permanent record for your operators - reducing mistakes and allowing a record of each mix to be kept with the job bag.
