4 color process

Need to print a 4 color process print.

How do I seperate this print? I have an EPS file in CMYK that I opened in photoshop. Do I just select the channel I want to seperate and then convert it to bitmap with halftone rastering?

Line count set to 300 lines / inch with eliptical dots, or perhaps round dots, what is the best?

Also should I open the eps with 300 dpi, or should I open it with 600 or more dpi before sperating the channels?

Need help, ASAP as I need to figure out a price for my customer...
